Ethics of Age Bias in the Law Office
Overview
There is an increasing discussion in this country about the new generation gap that threatens to divide Millennials, Baby Boomers, Generation Xers, and Traditionalists. The modern law office typically is home to a wide range of age groups, and the threat of age bias within law firms has become a concern of the ABA and the drafters of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct. This course discusses the nature of potential age bias in various types of law offices, the emerging ethical rules addressing the issue, and practical tips for eliminating age bias in the workplace.
