  Matt Miller is a shareholder in Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush, P.A. and manages its Hattiesburg office.  For almost 25 years, Matt has tried numerous cases and handled hundreds of litigation matters for clients throughout Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana, covering a broad spectrum of issues, including commercial and contract litigation, medical malpractice, personal/commercial automotive liability, premises liability, construction litigation, employment litigation, issues affecting educational institutions, and appellate work at both the State and Federal levels. 

  Matt is licensed in Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana, and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.  In 2018, Matt was selected by the Mississippi Business Journal as one of Mississippi’s “Top Ten” Leaders in Law.

  Matt is involved in numerous leadership positions and non-profit organizations throughout Mississippi and in the Pine Belt, and presently is a member of the State Board of Education, appointed by Governor Reeves in 2021.  He has also served on the Mississippi Bar Association’s Litigation Section Executive Committee (2012-present, Chairman, 2017-2018), the Hattiesburg Youth Soccer Association’s Board of Directors (2014-2021, Board Chairman, 2018-2021), Leadership Pine Belt Steering Committee (2012-present, and co-Chair 2017, 2018), and Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors (2010-2014, Board President, 2014).  Matt also had the privilege of being part of Leadership Mississippi’s Class of 2018 and Leadership Pine Belt’s Class of 2010.  Matt has been married to Gaylyn (Gill) for almost 25 years, and they have three children, Jillian, Ethan and Cooper.
