Mississippi Supreme Court waives In-Person CLE requirement for 2022:

Due to continuing complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mississippi Supreme Court has once again suspended – for the 2021- 2022 CLE reporting year -- the CLE rule that normally requires Mississippi lawyers to earn at least 6 hours of CLE per year at In-Person seminars. Instead, through the end of the 2021-2022 reporting year that ends on July 31, 2022, Mississippi attorneys are again temporarily allowed to earn all 12 hours of annual CLE credits through online courses (including Barristers pre-recorded On-Demand online courses, as well as Live Webcasts).

Barristers has responded to this change:

For that reason, for the spring and summer of 2022 Barristers will be (1) expanding its library of Online On-Demand courses and (2) scaling back our normal lineup of In- Person seminars. (We’ve learned that there is insufficient demand for In-Person seminars when they are not required.)

A few In-Person seminars will still be held in July 2022:

At the same time, since some of our loyal attendees prefer the In-Person format, we are still planning at least a few In-Person courses in July 2022 in Jackson, Gulfport, and Oxford. This lineup of In- Person courses is not as robust as our usual schedule, but we want to make this format available for those of you who (like us) miss the personal interaction of In-Person gatherings.

Rest assured – all of our usual content (including our 28th Annual Recent Developments in Mississippi Law course) will be available in an online format in 2022. Thank you for supporting your Mississippi-based CLE company during these challenging times!
