Upcoming In-Person Seminars:
Announcement Regarding In-Person Seminars:
Tennessee Supreme Court permanently eliminates In-Person CLE Requirement:
On November 1, 2022, the Tennessee Supreme Court amended the Tennessee MCLE Rules to permanently remove the old requirement that attorneys earn at least 7 CLE hours per year at In-Person seminars. That requirement was waived during the pandemic, and the Supreme Court has now made the waiver permanent.
This means that Tennessee attorneys can now earn all 15 hours of mandated CLE each year (including the 3 hours of ethics) with so-called distance learning seminars (like On-Demand online CLE and Live Webcasts).
Barristers has responded to this change:
Barristers has determined that there is not sufficient attorney demand for In-Person seminars when they are not mandatory. For that reason, we will not be offering any In- Person CLE seminars in Tennessee for the foreseeable future. (We miss the personal interaction of In-Person seminars, but these events are becoming an endangered species since the Rule change.)
In the meantime, rest assured that all of our usual Barristers content will be available in On-Demand Bundles and/or Live Webcasts (including our annual Recent Developments in Tennessee Law course). Check the "CLE On-Demand" and "Live Webcasts" pages of this website for detailed information on all of our current Tennessee Online CLE offerings.
